Legendary drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie created what may be the holy grail of break-beats with his album Soul Drums, one of the most sought after drum LPs among serious crate diggers. Purdie is now set to re-release Soul Drums (first time on CD + digital), his first solo album, which will include 8 bonus tracks rumored to be his "lost" sophomore LP (Alexander's Rag Time Band) next Tuesday on Green Streets Entertainment. In case you don't know, Purdie's resume is way too long to list here, but he's drummed with the greats, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, King Curtis, Steely Dan , Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Herbie Hancock , Hall & Oats, Quincy Jones and many many more.
